Swim Meet Jobs
- Meet Set Up - 7:00 am on Saturday morning meets and 4:00 pm on Wednesday Meets (only if home meet)
- Announcer - Experience prefered. Announce the events, swimmer names, diner specials, records broken, and more! Sets up and breakdown the microphone.
- Clerk of Course - Experience needed. Gets the swimmers to the blocks to swim their events. Takes great familiarity with the order of the meets, and the swimmers. Also requires calm under pressure.
- Assistant Clerk of Course - No experience needed. Helps the Clerk of Course get all the swimmers to all their events at all the right times. Must have a good understanding of the order of events.
- Head Timer - Experience necessary. Trains timers at the beginning of the meet, Makes sure all timers are timing correctly, handles extra watches to distribute as needed.
- Assistant Head Timer - Experience helpful. Assist the head timer by keeping backup stopwatches for timers who forgot to hit the start button on time
- Timers - No experience necessary. On-the-job training provided. Must arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet and stay for the entire meet (sometimes people arrange to switch off after halftime). Requires timing the swimmers as they swim the events. Best seats in the house for watching the meet.
- Ribbon Writer - No experience required. Take labels from the computer operator after swim times have been verified and stick on the corresponding ribbons. Requires staying around til the end of the meet.
- Automation Verifier - Help enter times and score the meet.
- Automation Scorer - Experience useful but we are willing to train. Must be able to read timers’ handwriting. Reads swimmer's times, posts results on the board. It’s not a high pressure job and you get to sit in the shade.
- Runner - No experience needed. Easy and fun! Pick up time sheets from timers and deliver to automation. No actual running required.
- Photographer(s) - Our team photographers are responsible for the wonderful photos that appear on the team website and are prominently displayed (and available to take home) at the team banquet. The more photographers the better to capture all the kids. If you enjoy photography, this is an easy and fun volunteer job.
- Meet Breakdown (home meet only) - Return the pool to its usual state - return flags, rope barriers and tables to the shed and return all furniture to its usual location. Swim team members will remove the ropes.
- Diner Hospitality (home meets only) - Bring water out to timers/runners/etc throughout the meet. Also set up snack tables for officials and timers in the baby pool area during half time. Break down tables and clean up the baby pool area after the meet.
- Diner Set Up, Serving and Breakdown (home meets only) - Prep and serve food, clean the kitchen area, and break down tables in the diner at the end of the meet. Sell food and keep the tables stocked with items. Several volunteers are needed at every event in the diner.
The following Swim Meet Jobs Require MCSL Certification:
- Referee - The official who manages the flow of the events in the meet and ensures all MCSL rules and regulations are being enforced and followed. The referee has final say on virtually all on-deck issues. **Requires MCSL certification; 18 & older
- Starter - Starts each race using vocal cues and the starting horn/light. **Requires MCSL certification; 18 & older
- Stroke and Turn Judge - Monitor swimmers and has the authority to disqualify swimmers for rules violations that they observe. **Requires MCSL certification; 18 & older

Swim Season Jobs
- Daleview Diner Coordinator - Oversees diner operations including creating shopping lists, maintaining inventory, and overseeing operations at swim meets, cookouts and swim banquet. Sets prices for items sold. Keeps a budget that is conveyed to the Board.
- Head of Automation - This individual is in charge of and oversees all computer operation and support for the swim team at meets and otherwise. This includes producing a team roster, meet lineups, team email list, and meet programs. Uses team laptop and necessary software.
- Team Merchandise Coordinator - Purchases and maintains a stock of Daleview gear and makes available at home swim meets (includes, caps, t-shirts, sweatshirts and more. Does not include team suits - please visit Capitol Swim and Sport).
- Daleview MCSL Officials Chair - Ensures that Daleview has sufficient MCSL certified reps to run meets. Recruits others as needed to attend training.
- July 4 Parade Coordinator - A favorite Daleview Feet tradition is to march in the annual Takoma Park 4th of July Parade. Borrow a yellow car or truck, get water for the kids and distribute beads and necklaces to marchers.
- Volunteer Coordinator - Makes sure volunteer slots are filled in the Swimtopia or Sign Up Genius throughout the season and wrangles more volunteers as needed.
- Team Photo Coordinator - Schedules the designated photographer. Promotes packages to swim families and arranges for purchase of a swim team photo to hang at Daleview. Makes sure that families get their photos.
- Spaghetti Dinner Coordinator - Ensures that there are enough signups for food donations, set-up and breakdown volunteers, and servers. Works with other volunteers to set up tables, serve food, break down and clean up.
- Memorial Day Cookout Coordinator (hosted by 15-18 Age Group Families) - Purchases food for cookout. Gets Square and cash from Daleview Diner Coordinator. Works with other volunteers to set up tables, serve food, break down and clean up.
- 4th of July Cookout Coordinator (hosted by 11-14 Age Group Families) - Purchases food for cookout. Gets Square and cash from Daleview Diner Coordinator. Works with other volunteers to set up tables, serve food, break down and clean up.
- Labor Day Coordinator (hosted by 10 and Under Age Group Families) - Purchases food for cookout. Gets Square and cash from Daleview Diner Coordinator. Works with other volunteers to set up tables, serve food, break down and clean up.
- Kids Night Coordinator - Purchases food and prizes. Gets Square and cash from Daleview Diner Coordinator. Works with other volunteers to set up tables, serve food, break down and clean up.
- Teen Night Coordinator - Purchases food. Gets Square and cash from Daleview Diner Coordinator. Works with other volunteers to set up tables, serve food, break down and clean up.
- Team Donuts Coordinator - Coordinates volunteers to pick up donuts at designated locations and deliver to the pool on Friday mornings.
- Trophy Coordinator - Coordinates purchase and pick up of team trophies with coach and team reps to have them available at the banquet.
- Team Record Board Coordinator - Works with coaches and team reps to ensure that the Daleview Record Board is updated.
- Banquet Food Coordinator - Ensures that there are enough signups for food donations, set up and breakdown volunteers and servers. Works with other volunteers to set up tables, serve food, break down and cleans up. Coordinates a volunteer to pick up Popeyes Chicken. Banquet occurs on the evening of the Divisionsals swim meet.
- Senior Send Off Coordinator - Coordinates (writes or enlists help) the speeches for graduating Seniors that are celebrated at the last home meet and the Banquet by getting bios from their parents and writing the lovely send-offs for them as they graduate from the team.
- Brownie Bake Off Coordinator - Coordinates annual favorite end of summer event. Sets up tables, enlists judging help, helps serve brownies, announces winners by age group and cleans up.
