The Daleview Feet

Summer swim team is FUN! This is a developmental swimming league, meant to help swimmers learn proper stroke technique, build a love for the sport, and create a supportive community environment. Many swimmers begin swimming for the Daleview FEET as 4 or 5 year olds and remain on the team all the way until they graduate at age 18. This is a unique youth sporting opportunity as swimmers who are 18 years old and swimmers who are 6 years old are members of the same team and have similar scoring opportunities. Through our Big Foot-Little Foot program, older swimmers are paired up with younger swimmers to establish mentorship opportunities and team bonds between the older and younger swimmers.

History & MCSL

Daleview was a charter member of the Montgomery County Swim League, founded in 1959. The league grew from 10 teams in 1959 to 90 teams today. Teams are organized into 15 divisions (Division A through O), each made up of 6 teams. During a summer swim season, each team swims 5 duel meets ("A meets") on Saturday mornings against each team in the division, one divisional relay carnival (a meet made up of only relays, swum against all teams in the division), and a championship divisionals meet. All of these meets are scored and used to determine division rankings. B meets are swum on Wednesday evenings against nearby pools and are used as opportunities for swimmers to improve times and qualify for A meets. These meets are unscored and do not count towards the team's standings in the division.

It's not all just swimming....

Many social events are part of the swim team season and help make the summer extra fun. We host regular cookouts on Memorial day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. The team helps run a pool-wide Kids Night, an event full of games only for kids. The team also hosts a team Spaghetti dinner at the beginning of the season and a team banquet to celebrate the end of the season. Friday morning practices include Big Foot/Little Foot and donuts! There are many other traditions including learning all of the team cheers and dressing up in theme for meets each week.

Parents, we need your help!

There is SO MUCH of the summer swim season that is not possible without the support of our parents. Parents are asked to volunteer 4 times during the season per registered swimmer. Opportunities include volunteering at swim meets, or social events. Please see the handbook for more details on different jobs. Signups for these jobs can be found under "Meet & Event Schedule and Signup." Go to the volunteer pages for more info on how to sign up and job descriptions.
